See What's On My Fall Reading List
Take a look at my TBR list for autumn, plus a recent purchase I'm loving and three favorite posts from the DGD archives.

Can you believe that we’re just a couple of weeks away from fall?! I’m an autumn girl through and through, and can’t wait to indulge in all of my favorite parts of the season—the crisp air, colorful leaves, socks and boots, plaid flannel, furry blankets, spicy candles, steaming bowls of soup…It’s all going to be so good.
I also especially love to settle in with a good book this time of year, but, really, I probably say that every season. At any rate, I thought I’d share all of the books that are currently on my fall reading list. Don’t forget to comment on today’s post and tell me what’s earmarked on your own bookshelf for autumn, and keep an eye on the blog tomorrow for an update on my summer reading list, complete with individual book reviews.
My Fall 2025 Reading List:
Broken Homes, by Ben Aaronovitch: This one is up next for me in the Rivers of London series that I started earlier this year. I can’t wait to continue this very British, very ghost-heavy story.
Rules of Civility, by Amor Towles: I absolutely adored Towles’ A Gentleman in Moscow, so I’ve had this next book on my shelf since 2023, and vow to finally read it this fall. My friend told me she didn’t like it, which is why I think I unconsciously have put it off. I’m anxious to see how I’ll feel about it.
Same As It Ever Was, by Claire Lombardo: Here’s another one that’s sat unread on my shelf for too long. I bought it on a whim from a local book store, and look forward to seeing what all of the fuss is about. I love a good family/friends drama, so I have high hopes.
One Golden Summer, by Carley Fortune: Is it weird to read a beachy book in the fall? I personally don’t think so! It’s a great way to call back up those sunny sensations of summer, and, besides, I’ve heard such good things about this sequel to Every Summer After (which I loved).
First Lie Wins, by Ashley Elston: Nikki and I are reading this one for our 2-person book club next month. I’ve been craving a thriller, so I can’t wait to dive in. Feel free to join us in reading the book if you’d like, and then you can share your thoughts when I offer my own review on the blog later in the season!
The Hunger Games, by Suzanne Collins: I’ve only read this blockbuster series once, and happened to find all of the books for just a few dollars each at a thrift store last year. It seemed like a good excuse to give it a second go since I devoured the books the first time.
Wellness, by Nathan Hill: Now, this one I’m skeptical about…I started reading Wellness back in February but just really didn’t love it. It was pretty depressing, in my opinion, but everyone else seems to give it a rave review! Should I try again? Let me know in the comments if it’s worth it.
Now tell me what’s on your own fall TBR list! I’d love to keep adding to my growing tally of “must reads,” so please share what you’re planning to read and what you’ve already read and loved recently. I’ll probably sneak in a couple of unplanned titles this fall, just like always, but this lineup above has me excited to cuddle up with a fresh book, my favorite fall throw blanket, and a steamy cup of tea. Happy reading, everyone!
Things worth mentioning this week…
New On The Blog: I don’t post quite as many crafty DIYs as I used to (maybe a product of getting older and feeling more settled in our décor?), but I recently came up with this idea for art made from wallpaper scraps, and just had to see it through! Click here for the step-by-step tutorial.
What I’m Watching: I’ve been finding myself navigating back to old episodes of Joanna Gaines’ Magnolia Table on HBO Max. I love her humble way of teaching us how to cook. There’s so much variety in the dishes she puts together, too.
What I’m Reading: I’m finally reading Whispers Underground, which is the last unread book on my summer reading list. Just like the others in the series, it’s full of sarcastic humor and gripping magical drama (no, really…there are lots of supernatural twists!). I highly recommend it.
Favorite Recent Purchase: I just got this small wet/dry 1-gallon Shop-Vac for my pottery studio and love how easy it is to use! The compact size makes it a cinch to grab when I need to get rid of a dusty mess, and I love that I can use it for other things around the house and in my car, too.
Looking Forward To: September is my favorite time to visit wineries. The weather is generally the perfect balance of summer and fall, and, even though I’m clearly biased, I think we have the most stunning mountain views here in Virginia. Of course, the wine is delicious, too! You can see my roundup of favorite area tasting rooms here on the blog.
